The German tennis federation, which picks its best juniors through scouting camps and tournaments from age 11 and names a national squad each year; families cannot buy a place. Squad players train with national coaches at four bases (Hannover, Kamen, Stuttgart and Oberhaching), each with boarding and partner schools; the head office is at Rothenbaum in Hamburg.
